Annual Fast

This year's fast is a little different, as Pastor Scotty has called the church to "fast pride." There has been a bit of confusion about just what that means, so Pastor provided an explanation here:

"Fast Pride!" I asked, "what do you mean, Lord?" I felt the Lord say, "I know this is a working-class society who needs strength from meals to work, and some can do more than others. So, eat regular meals, but fast between meals."
(Refer to Acts 27; Paul's encouragement to eat.) That is 2-3 meals per day but leave out sugary snacks and desserts and those mid-morning and late afternoon snacks.
It represents doing away with the unnecessary; things which are more privilege than essential.
But the Lord also said for 21 days to fast buying wants for yourself.  When you feel the urge to buy for yourself, think of someone at the church or in your community to buy for.
